Job Purpose

Vertiv is hiring an IT Buyer in Westerville, Ohio who will be a member of the Global Indirect Procurement Team and is responsible supporting processes related to indirect procurement with a target of optimizing cost to company. The ideal candidate for the Procurement Analyst position will demonstrate a general knowledge of procurement and will possess strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Leveraging company spend nationally and globally to ensure financial benefit to the company.
  • Identification, vetting, and selection of new vendors and services, when required.
  • Developing and leading a competitive vendor selection process via various processes including but not limited to RFP’s and Auctions along with any other innovative bidding processes followed by detailed analysis of bids, service levels, cost optimization opportunities.
  • Negotiation of commercial and legal contract terms with suppliers and resellers
  • Identifying and implementing cost reduction opportunities while procuring IT software and/or services
  • Coordinating requirements for procurement across various internal teams to ensure best overall value is achieved.
  • Provide market and opportunity analysis to business stakeholders.
  • Directs cross-functional teams using analysis of historical spend data, market research and cost modeling to identify and leverage high value opportunities that deliver innovative and sustainable value, operational efficiencies, and risk mitigation to the business.
  • Supports Procurement Managers with data collection and analysis related to vendor marketplace, market rates, service levels, global support model.
  • Supports assigned procurement activities such as identifying requirements for software buy/renewal, PR/POs management related to procurement, contract and vendor database administration and review of contract terms.
  • Lead and supports data analysis for cost optimization to support negotiation strategies and compare vendor bids.
  • Work closely with Business stakeholders, Finance and Legal as part of procurement process.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in procurement, preferably Indirect and or IT.

• Strategic Global Sourcing experience including RFP and other procurements processes

• A strong business acumen

• Ability to interact and influence within all levels within the organization

• Ability to work within a matrix management environment

• Ability to prioritize projects, goals & initiatives

• Working knowledge and proven application of the principles and philosophies of Continuous Improvement

• E-Sourcing experience, specifically with reverse auctions.

• Strong analytical skills and expert user at Microsoft Excel.

• A strong business acumen

• Ability to work within a matrix management environment

• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively.

• Process improvement skills

• Project Management Skills – Ability to organize and schedule people and tasks

• Highly organized and can multi-task
